Compared to what I’ve seen in London so far, Hamburg had a TON more graffiti throughout the city. Granted, Hamburg doesn’t have the gazillion cameras everywhere. There were also a bunch of lazy tags strewn onto buildings, electrical boxes, and light poles. But definitely some great pieces to be seen.
Pieces in Hamburg
Had the chance to visit Hamburg, Germany last week for work.
This is the Binnenalster, a big lake in the middle of the city center, surrounded by the Rathouse (Town hall), hotels and shops.
Swans! with the Rathouse in the back
Canals run throughout the city. Hamburg has more bridges inside its city limits than any other city in the world and more canals than Amsterdam and Venice combined
The Central station, Hauptbahnhof
Saw one of these guys in Tokyo too :)
Chilehaus is an exceptional example of the 1920s Brick Expressionism style of architecture. It is famed for its top, which is reminiscent of a ship’s prow, and the facades, which meet at a very sharp angle.
The Chilehaus building was designed by the architect Fritz Höger and built between 1922 and 1924. It was commissioned by the shipping magnate Henry B. Sloman, who made his fortune trading saltpeter from Chile, hence the name Chile House.

Shoreditch Street Art
Spent a weekend walking around Shoreditch looking for street art. Definitely found some. Plan on going on a banksy walk at some point in time…
Interesting storefronts right outside the Shoredtich Station
